Illnesses, crises, and stress can drag us down and make everyday life a struggle. Therapy can help.
Exploring with a therapist what is troubling you, what is important to you, and what gets in your way can be a great relief. It can open up new ways of coping, and set the stage for working together towards the changes you are hoping for.
I like working with empirically validated methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema therapy, and mindfulness practices. All these approaches take advantage of what we know about the relationships between behavior, thoughts, emotions and context. The goal is to break cycles that cause suffering in everyday life and to replenish your resources.
